Learning Objectives

Recognize and describe the prevalence, presentation, and impact of mental health challenges among autistic and neurodivergent children and adults, including the role of trauma, stigma, and social stressors. Explain how factors such as sleep difficulties, sensory sensitivities, and challenges with nonpreferred or demanding activities contribute to emotional dysregulation, distress, and safety concerns. Increase confidence and competence in providing validating, trauma-informed, and neurodiversity-affirming care and education that promote safety for autistic and neurodivergent children and adults.

Accreditation and credit designation
