Lifelong Learning

Lifelong Learning focuses on helping you bridge the gap between residency knowledge and what you need to know to provide the highest quality care in your practice today. With a combination of Continuing Medical Education (CME) and Self-Assessment (SA) credits, Lifelong Learning helps keep you on track and learning throughout your career. Complete and post an average of 30 Category 1 CME Credits per year of certification. At least 50% of these credits should be related to the practice of physical medicine and rehabilitation (for PM&R certificates) or to your subspecialty area (for subspecialty certificates). For more specific information please visit the ABPMR's site

Wondering if you're on track for completing your 5- or 10-year requirements to maintain your certification? Don't know whether you've entered the CME credits you've earned over the last year? The best way to see what you’ve done and what you have left to do is to check your Certification Dashboard. First, log in to your profile. When you click on "Certification Dashboard," you'll see a timeline displaying your requirements and how many credits remain for the current five-year period. From here, you can enter any missing CME credits as well. Questions? Call the ABPMR Certification Services team at 507-282-1776.

The UPMC CCEHS offers ABPMR MOC to a select number of activities meeting the board requirements. These activities will have the following statement, "Successful completion of this CME activity enables the learner to earn credit toward the CME requirements of the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation’s Continuous Certification program. It is the CME activity provider's responsibility to submit learner completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABPMR credit."

To have your completion of an ABPMR approved activity transmitted to the board, please add your Date of Birth and Board/Board ID number to your UPMC CCEHS CME profile. Instructions can be found here.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Credits cannot be awarded retroactively. For this reason, if you were not awarded CME credit or your CCE account, http://cce.upmc.com, did not identify you as an ABA diplomate and include your Date of Birth (DOB) and Board ID, we are unable to transfer your credits.
