Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this audio conference, participants should be able to:

1. Modernize Medical Staff Bylaws and related policies to reflect the system’s, hospital’s, and medical staff’s evolving relationship with Advanced Practice Professionals who are granted privileges to care for hospital patients.

2. Begin to think about, and develop Bylaws and policy language to address, the use of AI by Medical Staff members and in Medical Staff leadership activities.

3. Make updates to the Medical Staff Bylaws and related governance documents, to reflect 2026 updates to the Joint Commission accreditation manual for hospitals.

4. Develop Medical Staff Bylaws or policy language addressing assessments, in lieu of full H&Ps, for specified outpatient surgeries and procedures.
