Second Annual Human Growth Foundation Pennsylvania Pediatric Endocrine Virtual Conference
This program is to teach all healthcare personnel about Human Growth Hormone & conditions it is viable for.
Target Audience
Pediatric providers including physicians in training in pediatrics, practicing pediatrician's and advanced practice providers involved in the medical care of children.
Learning Objectives
1. Recognize the clinical manifestations of adrenal insufficiency in the pediatric population for early recognition and timely referral in order to decrease morbidity associated with this condition.
2. Recognize the most common types of thyroid dysfunction in children and appropriate interpretation of subtle thyroid hormone test abnormalities to help avoid unnecessary referrals to subspecialty care.
3. Recognize the most common forms of rickets in pediatrics and understand newly developed approaches to treatment of some forms of hypophosphatemic rickets.
4. Recognize the physiology of glucose control in the early neonatal period to distinguish adaptive changes in glucose homeostasis versus pathologic forms of hypoglycemia.
5. Recognize manifestations of gender dysphoria to initiate the initial steps of counseling and appropriate referrals.
6. Understanding of abnormalities in pubertal development and normal variants
