Learning Objectives

Describe the legal and ethical considerations for responding to medical emergencies in public or non-clinical settings.
Identify key steps in assessing and managing common medical emergencies outside of traditional clinical environments.
Discuss the limitations of scope of practice and liability protection for advanced practice providers responding outside of their licensed work setting. Apply practical strategies to maintain clinical reasoning and safety during emergent interventions in uncontrolled environments.
