Ostomy Care Associate Course (OCA) Spring/Summer 2022 Cohort 5

The Ostomy Care Associate (OCA) Program, which is a Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nurses (WOCN®) Society-endorsed educational program geared toward non-specialty licensed nurses. The OCA course is a continuing education program that will improve patient outcomes by enhancing the WOC nurse ostomy team. The course prepares non-specialty nurses to provide basic ostomy care to improve outcomes for your patients. If you are a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse or a physician with an interest in ostomy care, you are eligible to take part in this comprehensive certificate program! 

Target Audience

The OCA Program is for non-specialty licensed ostomy care providers, such as:
•    Licensed health care providers.
•    LPN’s/LVN’s.
•    Non-baccalaureate RN’s.
•    Baccalaureate prepared RN’s and Master’s prepared APN’s who do not wish to specialize but want adequate knowledge in ostomy care.
•    Physicians and other clinicians who want adequate knowledge in ostomy care.

1.    The Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nurses Society is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.
 
2.    The WOCN® Society was awarded Accreditation with Distinction, the highest recognition awarded by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Accreditation Program. 

3.    Accreditation refers to educational content only and does not imply ANCC, CBRN or the WOCN Society endorsement of any product or service. 

4.    Participants who complete this course will be awarded 27.00 contact hours (for nurses).
