Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a client-centered/evidence-based communication approach, which enhances intrinsic motivation for making behavior changes by exploring and resolving a person’s ambivalence. It is a particular way of talking with people about change and growth to strengthen their own motivation and commitment. This workshop will help participants learn and understand MI philosophy, principles, and skills. Participants will learn to apply MI in an interactive learning environment while discovering new perspectives on ways to interact with clients to enhance their confidence, motivation, and commitment to change.
