Learning Objectives
After participation in this program the learner will be able to:
- Define palliative care
- Discuss role of palliative care medicine team
- Discuss how palliative care team can support patients and families both inpatient and outpatient
- Identify members of the Child Life Team
- Describe the role of Child Life
- Explain how the Child Life Team can support patients and families.
- Introduce the “new normal” of illicit drug use and availability
- Review current epidemiology of drug use and exposures to children
- Understand how the current illicit drug use availability effects children
- Define probiotics
- Describe potential benefits of probiotics to patients.
- Describe potential interactions of probiotics to be aware of.
In support of improving patient care, this activity has been planned and implemented by the University of Pittsburgh and the Pennsylvania Affiliate of the National Association of Clinical Nurse Specialists.
