PICU Sedation, Analgesia and Paralysis

This activity will educate our pharmacists on pediatric critical care practices and literature, specifically in relation to management of sedation, pain and paralytic medications, which will allow for more interprofessional collaboration when they are caring for these patients in the unit.

• Objective #2: Utilize pediatric assessment tools for continuous sedatives, analgesics and paralytics

• Objective #3: Manage a medication wean for pain and sedation medications

• Objective #4: Identify appropriate treatment regimens for ICU delirium

• Objective #5: Discuss relevant literature supporting the management of pediatric critical care patients
