Placenta Accreta Spectrum - Delivering High Quality Safe Patient Care Through a Multidisciplinary Complex Obstetrical Surgery Team
Maternal mortality from placenta accreta spectrum is estimated at 7%, up to 30% in the absence of antenatal diagnosis. Placenta accreta spectrum confers an 18-fold increase in maternal morbidity. Accurate, timely, prenatal diagnosis of placenta accreta spectrum and skillful surgical collaboration, coordination and management saves lives and conserves resources by reducing blood loss, and maternal and neonatal morbidities.
