New medications and new guidelines are constantly being released. Pharmacists need a mechanism to keep up with these new medications and guidelines.
The hepatitis B vaccine is recommended in patients with chronic liver disease. However, response rates to the hepatitis B vaccine are suboptimal in this population, with the rate as low as 38-53% of for patients with cirrhosis per clinical trials. This presentation will increase pharmacist competency in recommending hepatitis B immunization in chronic liver disease, including which vaccine product and series to select, and circumstances for retesting and revaccination
