New medication or old medications with new uses, as well as new treatment guidelines are constantly coming out. Pharmacists need to be aware of clinical controversies and stay up-to-date with the pharmacotherapy and therapeutics of all medications.

1. List 3 barriers to buprenorphine’s role in chronic noncancer pain management

2. Explain the strength of recommendation and differentiate gaps within supporting evidence for buprenorphine use between two different patient populations

3. Given a scenario, identify at least one population in which buprenorphine therapy would be appropriate
