Target Audience
Certified and On-The-Job trained Pathologists’ Assistants, Histology Technicians, Other Allied Health Professionals, and Students from NAACLS accredited Pathologists’ Assistant and Histology programs.
Learning Objectives
At the end of this lecture series the attendee will be able to:
- Enhance proficiency at the work bench:
Standardization of definitions of placental lesions and sampling
Why sampling technique matters in cases of retained placenta/manual extraction
Bridging the gap between clinical decisions behind the surgical technique and gross specimen
Understand the rationale for all the upfront special stains/IHC in thoracic cases
- Understand Disorders of Sex Development and the inherent controversies behind gender identity in this rare population
- Discuss pulmonary pathology commonly encountered in the Western PA region
- Expand knowledge base: Challenge conventional diagnostics by reviewing cases with unusual presentations and diagnostic findings
