Topics in Medication Safety - April 30, 2020

Recently identified safe medication practice opportunities for which pharmacist education and engagement is needed to promote best practices.  Pharmacists will learn practical strategies for avoidance of potential medication-related events, as well as ways to eliminate or mitigate preventable patient harm possibly related to medication use.

Target Audience

Pharmacists from the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy and/or employed by UPMC and deployed throughout the hospital campus in unit based roles and centrally in the department of pharmacy's main pharmacy.

  • Discuss what a pharmacist should do to prevent a similar event and/or mitigate patient injury caused by this type of medication safety issue.
