The UPMC Magee Women’s Hospital Foundation & UPMC Heart and Vascular Institute Sonography Symposium
Following completion of this symposium, learners will have the knowledge to confidently understand the diagnostic approach to hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy and the recognition of apical-variant hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, including identification of features that connote greater patient risk. In addition, the learners will be able understand the echocardiographic approach to pulmonary embolism and the identification of high-risk features that can impact their patient management. There are several other areas that the learners will take away from this symposium and they include echocardiographic recognition of stress cardiomyopathy, detection of atrial septal defect, recognition and evaluation of constrictive pericarditis, echocardiography in pregnancy-associated heart disease in patients. The knowledge of these areas will better equip our current and future staff to provide the best care to our patients.
Target Audience
This continuing medical education activity is designed for general cardiologists, sonographers, vascular technicians, other imagining specialists, and other interested allied health care professionals.
