Applying Evidence to Practice: VTE Prevention and Thrombophilia Testing for Surgical and Non-Surgical Patients

Join us as we welcome Geoff Barnes, MD, MSc, a cardiologist and vascular medicine specialist at the University of Michigan Health System. His areas of research interest include anticoagulation, venous thromboembolism, and quality improvement. Dr. Barnes will be discussing clinical trials and observational evidence for VTE prevention in major orthopedic surgery, appropriate VTE prevention strategies, thrombophilia testing for hospitalized patients, and interpreting thrombophilia test results for patients with acute VTE.
