International Invasive Lobular Breast Cancer (ILC) Symposium 2023

Pittsburgh, PA US
September 28, 2023 to September 30, 2023

The International Invasive Lobular Breast Cancer Symposium (ILC) will be held on September 28-30, 2023, in Pittsburgh, PA. This symposium will focus on various topics in primary and metastatic invasive lobular breast cancer (ILC.)

As we gear up for the 4th symposium, after a very successful 2022 Symposium that was held in Utrecht, NE, we are certain now more than ever that we are cultivating strong collaborative relationships amongst those who have attended the past 3 years. Ongoing support of laboratory and clinical experts whose focus is on the biological and clinical attributes of ILC continues to lead to new ideas for personalized therapy and addresses a major focus of patients and advocates. While increasing cases of ILC are diagnosed each year, with each annual symposium we take one step closer to a better understanding of the unique nature of this disease. While patients with breast cancer histology of No Special Type (NST) and ILC are treated the same, we continue to realize the clinical and biological differences between the two and strive to identify targeted treatments.

Ongoing collaborations on the unmet clinical need for women diagnosed and treated each year for ILC is critical for our research. As we prepare to host this upcoming symposium, we take with us the momentum from the last 3 years with the anticipation and enthusiasm that will lead to stronger collaborations and greater knowledge. This symposium will be Co-Chaired by Drs. Steffi Oesterreich (Pitt), Patrick Derksen (U of Utrecht), Christine Desmedt (KU Leuven), Rita Mukhtar (UCSF), Rachel Jankowitz (U of PA), Anne Salomon (Curie).
