• Hands-on skills and simulations to mitigate issues and work through process failures. 
• Review tracheostomy care, expectations, and troubleshooting concerns. 
• Practice Advance Cardiac Life Support protocols to enhance understanding and unify a team approach. 
• Review blood product administration per the UPMC policy and the procedure for Mass Transfusion protocol. 
• Discuss central line management, risks, benefits, and assessment skills. 
• Review foley catheter care along with the nurse driven removal protocol. 
• Discussion of heparin drip management and titrations per protocol. 
• Review of safe patient handling and proper body mechanics by discussing lifts. 
• Review of the AirTAP systems and appropriate use in specific patient populations. 
• Review of AIDET+ Promise and patient experience expectations. 
• Review of the NIHSS assessment tool. 
• Discussion of TNK administration in the stroke population. 
• Demonstration of setting up the Belmonte. 
• Review of spinal precautions and safe mobility of patients with restrictions. 
• Management of chest tubes and review of troubleshooting issues. 
• Review of interosseous access and proper management. 
• Discussion of Minnesota tube insertion and management. 
• Review of vasopressor medication titrations.
