The learner will be able to:
- Define Integrative Oncology.
- Recall therapies not considered Integrative Oncology.
- Describe two services offered to patients by the Integrative Oncology department.
- Describe the process of acupuncture and its indications in patients with cancer.
- Recall three indications for acupuncture treatment to alleviate side effects in patients diagnosed with cancer.
- Define lifestyle nutrition as it collaborates with Integrative Oncology.
- Recall patient specific history and physical information as it relates to proper development of lifestyle nutrition recommendations.
- Identify two modifications patients can make in their nutrition choices to improve overall health.
- Recall goals of nurse ambassador training.
- Discuss integrative therapies performed by nurse ambassadors for symptom management of patients being treated for cancer.
- Identify steps to a patient interaction for appropriate assessment in determining proper Integrative Oncology recommendations for symptom management.
