Opioids & Pain Management for Pharmacists - March 8, 2021

Education in pain management with opioids is required for license renewal. Pharmacists will be educated in pain management principles regarding opioids to ensure their safe and effective use. New medications and treatments are available that technicians will see orders for; technicians aren’t adequately aware of ways to detect abuse and diversion. Technicians will be aware of new pain management medications and signs to look for in patients and prescriptions that may indicate a need for intervention.

Provide information pharmacists and pharmacy technicians need to collaborate on pain management principles with physicians and other providers.
