An 8-hour annual educational event featuring expert-led presentations, team-building activities, and thought-provoking discussions.
Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this session, participants should be able to:
CHIROPRACTOR
Identify common musculoskeletal conditions of pregnancy treated by chiropractors.
Describe safe chiropractic techniques used in pregnancy
Identify and discuss when referral is needed.
SEX TRAFFICKING
Summarize the incidence of sex-trafficking in central Pennsylvania.
Recognize red flags in your patient population.
Develop therapeutic communication methods in order to talk with patients who are victims about their experience and health care needs.
Identify resources for victims and health care workers.
PEVIC PAIN
Explain Chronic Pelvic Pain and why it matters in women’s health care.
Identify and distinguish among nociceptive, neuropathic, and nociplastic pain mechanisms.
Develop an organ system–based approach to assess common gynecologic and nongynecological contributors to chronic pelvic pain.
Describe at least three patient‑centered nonpharmacologic management strategies and appropriate referral indications for chronic pelvic pain.
LEGAL ISSUES
Identify trends in legal issues for maternity care providers.
Recognize the importance of appropriate documentation to prevent legal exposure.
Implement a plan for depositions after high-risk incidents.
POSTPARTUM DOULA
Recognize the vulnerabilities of the postpartum period and importance of support.
Identify the role of postpartum doulas.
Identify Central Pennsylvania mothers' access to postpartum doula services
Rh SENSITIVITY
Define the physiology of Rh Sensitivity.
Recognize current trends
