ABIM MOC Assessment Recognition Program
The Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program requires that you earn some MOC points every two years to be reported as Participating in MOC.
To be reported as Certified, you must earn 100 points every five years (the points you earn every two years count toward your 100 points) and meet the MOC assessment requirement through the traditional 10-year exam, the Longitudinal Knowledge Assessment (LKA™), or a Collaborative Maintenance Pathway (CMP) assessment.

ABIM Eligible Activities
Not all CME activities are automatically recognized for physician MOC credit. Physician MOC credit is only reported for CME activities that meet the rigorous requirements set forth by a particular board and were approved by the CME provider in advance. If an activity qualifies for MOC credit, it will be specifically stated and automatically reported to the board on our end.
The UPMC CCEHS offers ABIM MOC to a select number of activities meeting the board requirements. These activities will have the following statement, "Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to [MOC point amount] MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit.”
To have your completion of an ABIM approved activity transmitted to the board, please add your Date of Birth and Board/Board ID number to your UPMC CCEHS CME profile. Instructions can be found here.
For on-demand online modules, please visit Internet-based Studies in Education and Research (ISER) through the University of Pittsburgh. Specifically, the folder titled "ABIM MOC", has around 40 activities and we're actively increasing the number of enduring materials. These activities will automatically be sent to the board for ABIM MOC credit, but one important note is that your account on the ISER site needs to have your ABIM number and DOB, or else it won’t transmit properly. To find your ABIM Number, please refer to the ABIM website
IMPORTANT NOTE: Credits cannot be awarded retroactively. For this reason, if you were not awarded CME credit before the credit claiming deadline, or your CCE account, http://cce.upmc.com, did not identify you as an ABIM diplomate (including your Date of Birth (DOB) and Board ID), we are unable to transfer your credits
