Orthopedic Education Day - September 19, 2024
The majority of nursing staff on the orthopedic units are novice staff. It is important they receive additional education to increase their knowledge and comfort level when taking care of these patients.
Nursing Leadership has also identified opportunities for improvement from recent post operative complication root cause analyses and chart audits revealing inconsistencies in practice.
Target Audience
All RNs, LPNs, and PCS staff who care for the orthopedic patient population
Learning Objectives
The learner will be able to provide and coordinate quality, safe patient care for patients having orthopedic and spine surgery.
Learners will be able to identify signs and symptoms of post-operative complications as well as treatment and prevention for these complications.
