The nursing staff have a baseline knowledge for the inpatient population they care for. Keeping abreast of changes and maintaining skills in high risk, low volume scenarios require ongoing education and hands-on practice.

Learning Objectives

Learners will demonstrate proper technique with mobility equipment and safe patient handling process.

Learners will be able to describe techniques for patient de-escalation.

Learners will demonstrate accurate use of various high risk, low volume medical equipment.

Learners will be able to discuss types of respiratory devices and care.

Learners will be able to identify care measures for stroke and orthopedic patients.

Learners will recognize pertinent heart rhythms and discuss associated interventions.
