4th Annual Professional Conference on Transgender Health
This conference will address transgender-related issues and will have two tracks: medical and mental health.
Target Audience
Medical and behavioral Health professionals
Learning Objectives
1. Recognize the management of gender dysphoria, including pubertal blockers, cross-sex hormones, surgical options, management of stress due to minority stress, and addressing educational needs.
2. Demonstrate cultural competency for transgender and gender non-binary individuals, such as using the correct terminology, understanding the concepts of gender identity, making an institution a safe and welcoming space, and educating the community the health, educational, and psychosocial needs of transgender people.
3. Identify the systematic barriers to obtaining services for transgender and gender non-binary individuals and learn skills to navigate institutional systems for this vulnerable population.
4. Apply tools and skills with interfacing with individuals in the health care, educational, government, and business settings to promote the health and well-being of transgender and gender non-binary individuals.
