2026 Health Sciences Leadership Academy for Early Career Faculty
This year-long professional development program for early career faculty members is designed to cultivate a generation of transformative academic leaders through shared leadership training.
Learning Objectives
- Establish the concepts of self-awareness and introspection as being fundamental leadership attributes
- Prepare transformative leaders who create working and learning environments wherein all persons are engaged, enriched, and may thrive
- Foster team cohesiveness and productivity
- Promote problem-solving strategies in response to difficult situations
- Advocate effective negotiation strategies to achieve career goals
- Formulate a personal career development and leadership action plan
In support of improving patient care, this activity has been planned and implemented by the University of Pittsburgh and Allegheny County Medical Society. The University of Pittsburgh is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
The University of Pittsburgh designates this live activity for a maximum of 47.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
Other health care professionals will receive a certificate of attendance confirming the number of contact hours commensurate with the extent of participation in this activity.
Reminder: Credit will be awarded at the end of the program. You must attend at least 8 sessions to receive credit. Credit awarded is calculated based on participation upon completion of the overall course evaluation.
